In my defence, I was trying to spice this entry up with some pictures, but the plugin wouldn’t co-operate, so you’ll have to manage without.
Day 1
4AM: Oslo – Frankfurt
Frankfurt – Chicago
Chicago – Los Angeles
Arrived at the Beverly Inn at 8:30PM local time, 5:30AM CET.
Day 2
Jet lagged, couldn’t sleep longer than 5AM, but had tossed and turned since 2AM. Walked around in the neighbourhood, took the bus downtown LA to the fashion district. Found macy*s and went mad on Victoria’s Secret. Went to Long Beach. Went home and fell asleep at 9PM.
Day 3
Still jet lagged, but managed to sleep until 6AM. Saw a movie on our crappy TV (it was worse than we had home in the 80s) before heading out to Universal Studios. Spent most of the day there, plus some minutes on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. Met Alex and the penguins from Madagascar, went on most of the rides and the movies. Loved the Shrek 4D. Visited Wisteria Lane (had no idea it was there). Limited myself to only buy a Hello Kitty tee (Reading is FUNdamental) and a HK pez at the CityWalk. Saw Flushed Away. Cute movie.
Day 4
Got up at 6AM, took a shower and woke the guys. Walked to the Beverly Center where I went straight to the Apple store and bought and Nike+iPod kit. Oh and three dresses at macy*s. Yes, I said three. But after that I couldn’t get myself to buy more clothes, so I got some accessories and a Hello Kitty cover for my iPod, and went home.
Called my mom and I’m still amazed that you are able to talk to someone on the other side of the planet.
Went to the Sunset Strip. Had pizza. Went to bed.
Day 5
The guys went to the beach, so we split up and I went to WB Studios (this is when I met the cat guy). Watched a scene from Cold Case and saw the only celebrity for the whole trip: Danny Pino. Wouldn’t have recognized him if I had to pick him out in a line, but that’s another story. Drove through Stars Hollow and they had Christmas. They where filming later that evening though, would have loved to see that. Ran outside of Lorelai’s house, was inside of the garage and touched Luke’s boat. Fun fact: The inside of Lorelai’s house is the interior of Sookie’s. Was sorted into Hufflepuff by the actual sorting hat from the first movie. Hufflepuff? Oh well.
Did my last shopping at Hollywood, and went to the airport. Met Gio on the way there, and this is what he told me: He’s 1/8 Norwegian, thought we Norwegians spoke Icelandic, had Euros and was shocked that I could work part-time for a month at a grocery store and afford the trip to L.A. He was also better than Simon (Chhhannah!) to pronounce my name though: Haa-na. Lovely. Americans are more friendly than people give them credit for.
